Welcome to O Fine Japanese Cuisine, the restaurant serves contemporary Japanese cuisine and traditional sushi in an elegant and comfortable setting. Honoring Chef Miki Izumisawa, the female, award-winning sushi artist, originally trained by the one and only Nobu Matsuhisa. Miki was inspired by nature to create unique nigiri, cut rolls and hand rolls that blur the line between art and fusion sushi. Miki's recipes transform elements of the natural world with names such as Lava Flow, Moon and Sun, Feather in the Sky, and Prairie. Before her passing, Miki carefully coached outstanding female-only sushi chefs to execute her masterpieces. Her legacy continues in this romantic styled coastal, intimate sushi bar and cozy 18 window seats with views of Laguna's main beach. Owners Chris Olsen and Greg Washer are longtime locals who appreciate what Miki did for this community with an outstanding Japanese experience pushing the boundaries of tradition.     Eveything about this establishment is on-point. Be it the outstanding service, the food (presentation and flavor), the ambient lighting or the beautiful decor. They truly are firing on all cylinders here, and will make for a top-night for any occasion whatsoever. I cannot speak highly enough about this place in all honesty, making it a local favorite for several years now.

    The fish in all dishes were very fresh and delicious that evening. We sat at the sushi bar, and the sushi chef was very attentive. He customized our rolls, and didn't seem to nickel and dime us for little changes. I've been to this restaurant when it was definitely overpriced,  but tonight was an exceptionally good value, and we enjoyed every aspect of it. This is a great sushi bar when they keep the price is reasonable! (Understanding, of course, that it is Newport Beach! $$$)

    This was everything we were expecting and more. The Chefs attention to detail and execution meant each bite was nothing short of exquisite. And the service matched. You should absolutely book if you’re looking to have an authentic sushi experience worthy of the Michelin Star it rightly holds. We can’t wait visit again.
