Brothers Bruce and Eric Bromberg, creators of Blue Ribbon Restaurants in New York, Las Vegas and London, have arrived on the West Coast with the opening of Blue Ribbon Sushi Bar and Grill at The Grove in Los Angeles. The restaurant offers diners award-winning sushi offerings by Master Sushi Chef Toshi Ueki, Japanese steakhouse fare and Blue Ribbon classics in a warm, yet vibrant setting. Available for dinner and late-night dining, Blue Ribbon Sushi Bar and Grill’s expansive menu presents quality sushi and sashimi selections, including Toshi’s Choice Omakase and Blue Ribbon Maki with ½ lobster, shiso and black caviar. For options beyond the sea, Blue Ribbon’s signature dishes include Oxtail Fried Rice with daikon, shiitake and bone marrow; 30 oz. Food was okay. A number of our dishes were quite bland and the fried rice was oily and not very good. Service was lackluster — our waiter never even bothered to refill our water. Location is great but overall experience was okay.

This place is super Duper cute. Great spot for a date night super intimate, amazing lighting, beautiful decor and sushi was to die for sake was super good and the presentation of the hand rolls was gorgeous.

For decades, Sasabune has delivered some of the highest quality in traditional sushi. Through moves, expansions, and closures, the food is as delicious as ever. They are hard to beat for freshness and technique. And although very traditional, that does not mean boring - there is very deft use of flavor, but it is subtle, and the fish is the star of the show. Highlights: they offer both fresh and seawater eel, as well as both Santa Barbara and Hokkaido uni.
