Bienvenidos, y'all! Inspired by long days on the Gulf, late nights on the ranch and the colorful creations of our abuela, our family's Kitchen & Cantina showcases the rich foods and traditions we grew up with on both sides of the border. Nothing matches the flavor of food grilled over mesquite. Try wood-fired Texas quail swaddled in homemade tortillas, jalapeno rellanos stuffed with house-made chorizo and sizzling, family-style parrilladas - huge mixed platters of wild game and fresh vegetables, topped with pico de gallo and queso fresco - a unique spin on Houston barbeque. Our days begin roasting chilies and tomatoes, rolling fresh tortillas in our bakery and wringing every last drop of Ruby Red grapefruit for cocktails. We hand-grind our own sausage and hand-trim every ounce of meat in our butchery, then anoint it with the savory seasonings and marinades we've honed over generations. Our first time here and won’t be my last! We were seated at the time of our reservation and service was amazing. The tortillas were the best we have ever had. Our server Juanita answer all our questions and even gave us a history lesson of Ninfaa

My main complaint is when we were seated there were a bunch of empty tables on one side & mostly occupied tables on the other. This is a area where you're basically sitting next to the people at the next table. When we were led to the area that was more crowded we told the hostess we preferred the other area. We like personal space when eating out & that's why we objected to that area. The service was ok. I just got the feeling our server focused more on larger parties & tables that ordered more. I understand they want to focus more on them because of a bigger tip, however, I also feel everyone should be treated the same.
