Top Chef contestant Leah Cohen's Pig and Khao (68 Clinton Street) on the Lower East Side. The Southeast Asian inspired cuisine offers a variety of Thai and Filipino influences on the menu including Crispy Pata and pickled mango salad (pork shank cooked in soy sauce and five spice garnished with coriander, crispy garlic served with a secret family recipe sweet and sour liver dipping sauce), Grilled Pork Jowl and Brussels Sprouts Salad (chili lime fish sauce, shallot, herbs and toasted rice) and Crispy Pork Belly Adobo (Szechuan peppercorn, coconut vinegar, soy sauce, bay leaves, crispy garlic, scallion and soft boiled egg). Zaab Zaab’s co-owners proud natives of Queens, opened their restaurant in the heart of Elmhurst’s Little Thailand in April of 2022 just before Songrkan, or Thai New Year. The destination for authentic Isaan cuisine from Northeastern Thailand has received numerous accolades, including a 3-star review from Pete Wells of The New York Times, and being listed two years in a row on the NYT’s 100 Best Restaurants in NYC as well as being nominated as a semifinalist in the Best Restaurateur category for the 2024 James Beard Foundation Awards. Zaab Zaab is also recognized as a Michelin Bib Gourmand restaurant.

 Wei and Chunton a proud Thai-American who has been in the restaurant business for decades have been working together since 2018, when they opened a restaurant in Sunnyside, Queens, which was destroyed in a five-alarm fire.

    This was our 18th wedding anniversary & chose to celebrate it somewhere new. The ambiance was amazing. Our server was very attentive & the service was amazing. Everything came out right on time which was greatly appreciated. We had chicken & vegetable spring rolls which were amazing. My husband ordered sweet & sour chicken which he loved & I ordered beef & broccoli which was good but I felt the beef was a lil chewy. My drink Mai Tai wasn’t that good but the mistaken drink Brooklyn was amazing. We will be back again in the future to try some other food.
