Showcasing a unique blend of clean, fresh and healthy Asian food, dishes on Head Chef Yam Bahaeur Gurumg’s menu are all prepared from scratch using traditional Chinese, Thai, Malay and Singaporean disciplines. In the Royal Lancaster Hotel, the Nipa Thai restaurant has been named after the original Nipa Restaurant in the Landmark Hotel in Bangkok. Lots of teak panelling, traditional Thai furnishings and artefacts lend an authentic air. All the staff dressed in traditional Thai costume are from Thailand - even the lady chefs. This authentic Thai restaurant is one of the first 15 recipients of the 'Thai Select' award - this award has been described as being the first ever Michelin-style award for Thai restaurants proven to be performing to the highest standards of quality and cuisine, and is awarded by the Thai Government. We think this award sums up Nipa Thai rather nicely. What's cooking? My veggie friend came to see me, and specifically requested a Deliveroo from Mali Vegan Thai, like last time. She wanted to repeat the experience, as she’d enjoyed it so much. I said we can do better than that - let’s go there! So we did. She found the place enchanting and the food out of this world delicious, as did I. It’s a real find.

We dined at their Battersea Branch. we ordered Ka Nom Jeeb Prawn Toast Spicy Pepper Lamb Chicken Volcano Loved the overall presentation of the dishes especially the fiery Volcano chicken, it was perfect portion for one person with some rice. The flavours of the lamb were good, there were three large chops, but could have done with more meat on the bones. The egg fried rice hit the spot! We ordered twice! There was only one staff member on the day so was hard to attract attention always, but he looked after all the customers to the best he could! The interiors are lovely Would happily return for when we wish to have a nice meal somewhere local.
