Soothr, properly pronounced “Sood” is the Thai word meaning “Recipe”. This East Village establishment is the vision of close friends who grew up in different regions of Thailand, hoping to share their experiences and recipes with the rest of the world. Raised in distinctive regional cities, each individual brings their own unique relationship with Thai cuisine, with a specific focus on the generational family recipes that have shaped their childhood and time growing up in Thailand. With a specialty in family noodle recipes from throughout Thailand, Soothr offers a culinary experience that is geared towards the comfort and warmth of dining at home. These traditional recipes have brought great comfort and a sense of home for generations, and Soothr at its core is an invitation to sit at the table and enjoy a classic, Thai family meal.

Top Chef contestant Leah Cohen's Pig and Khao (68 Clinton Street) on the Lower East Side. The Southeast Asian inspired cuisine offers a variety of Thai and Filipino influences on the menu including Crispy Pata and pickled mango salad (pork shank cooked in soy sauce and five spice garnished with coriander, crispy garlic served with a secret family recipe sweet and sour liver dipping sauce), Grilled Pork Jowl and Brussels Sprouts Salad (chili lime fish sauce, shallot, herbs and toasted rice) and Crispy Pork Belly Adobo (Szechuan peppercorn, coconut vinegar, soy sauce, bay leaves, crispy garlic, scallion and soft boiled egg). Elephant District brings the flavors of Bangkok's riverside street food to Dumbo. Led by Executive Chef Ekapol “Top” Aranyawikul, our menu features Krapow Moo Krob, stir-fried crispy pork belly with Thai basil, chili, and garlic, inspired by his mother's recipe. Try our Brooklyn Bridge Pad Thai with jumbo prawns. Our seafood options include Yum Pla Krob, crispy tuna with mango, tomato, peanuts, and chili lime dressing; Choo Chee Pla, fried branzino in Southern Thai coconut red curry; Khao Soi Pu Nim, soft shell crab in Northern curry with egg noodles; and Khao Pad Tom Yum Talay, tangy seafood fried rice with prawn, mussels, and squid. Named after Tha Chang Wang Luang, the Elephant Pier on the Chao Praya River, our location near Fulton Ferry evokes the setting where boats cross from Bangkok’s Grand Palace to Wat Arun temple. 11 Tigers is New York City’s first-ever speakeasy with a Thai heart and a Japanese soul. Zaab Zaab’s co-owners proud natives of Queens, opened their restaurant in the heart of Elmhurst’s Little Thailand in April of 2022 just before Songrkan, or Thai New Year. The destination for authentic Isaan cuisine from Northeastern Thailand has received numerous accolades, including a 3-star review from Pete Wells of The New York Times, and being listed two years in a row on the NYT’s 100 Best Restaurants in NYC as well as being nominated as a semifinalist in the Best Restaurateur category for the 2024 James Beard Foundation Awards. Zaab Zaab is also recognized as a Michelin Bib Gourmand restaurant.

 Wei and Chunton a proud Thai-American who has been in the restaurant business for decades have been working together since 2018, when they opened a restaurant in Sunnyside, Queens, which was destroyed in a five-alarm fire.

    Love the Kao Soi, the wings, the fried brussels - really everything we ordered was delicious - as always!! Pig & Khao is a go-to for me. Every time I bring friends here they are always impressed by how good it is, and what good a value! This is a true neighborhood gem!!

    Hidden neighborhood gem with great food, excellent drinks, and a unique, comfortable atmosphere. Very happy our original option was no longer available when we went back to secure a reservation!

    The food was good, but maybe a bit simple for the price. Protein is not included in most entrees, which makes it more expensive. Portion sizes are smaller than normal. The place is cozy, and the service is good, but we suspect they had some staff shortage issues. The AC didn’t seem to be working as it got quite hot inside.
