Soothr, properly pronounced “Sood” is the Thai word meaning “Recipe”. While Indian influence in Thailand began during the 3rd century B.C. with the arrival of Buddhism, the apex of culinary influence occurred starting in the late 13th century during the Sukhothai period. During that time the spice trade flourished and the Thai royal court hosted Indian expertise of multiple disciplines including the culinary arts. Our Thai curry dishes at Chakra are iterations on recipes that were developed during that time period hundreds of years ago.     Extremely flavorful and interesting! Everything is super delicious! I recommend the Kong karee and the yum kaw moo is a whole experience on its own! Love the ambience and service is great. It’s my favorite restaurant in nyc for sure

    Kimmy was the best! I had friends coming from out of town and she was super patient in helping them choose what to eat with specific dietary restrictions they had. She also was attentive and friendly! Food was delicious and would definitely come again.

    Love the Kao Soi, the wings, the fried brussels - really everything we ordered was delicious - as always!! Pig & Khao is a go-to for me. Every time I bring friends here they are always impressed by how good it is, and what good a value! This is a true neighborhood gem!!

    Hidden neighborhood gem with great food, excellent drinks, and a unique, comfortable atmosphere. Very happy our original option was no longer available when we went back to secure a reservation!

    I had a wonderful time dining here. The food was excellent! I had the lentil curry. It was very flavorful. The free bottomless ginger tea was a nice touch too.
