Located on High Holborn, close to the British Museum, the restaurant is elegantly designed and filled with original Indian art and antique furniture including century old items made for Maharajas which take diners on a journey through Indian culture and history. The menu reflects regional accents with a contemporary viewpoint. It is food that observes the established traditions of Indian cooking but breaks the rules a little by Executive Chef Sohan Bhandari. Our menu goes beyond a 1970’s “Curry”, beyond street food and into a world of real Indian flavours. Great food (though I thought it would be hot and the breakfast focaccia was cold). I love all the great vegan options, and it was really a short walk from Kings Cross. Unfortunately, the music was far too loud--it was deafening and intrusive, and the staff couldn't turn it down (it made it hard to have a conversation).

We were told it was the first day of the new menu and it was very busy and running a little behind schedule with the bookings. However the staff were extremely friendly and professional despite being absolutely run off their feet and the food was excellent. Menu had so much that we wanted to try - the sharing small plates option for 2 seems a really good way to do that. Will have to return soon.

Fabulous vegan food, crunchy pickled vegetables, delicious pie, peas and potatoes, great broth soup, and pudding too! So great to come to a really good place, great food and know it’s all what I want to eat!

My mum and I had the loveliest afternoon tea. Our waiter was perfectly nice and quickly decided to move us, since another table was making noise. He was kind, the service was exceptional and the tea, food and atmosphere was delightful. We would definitely recommend!
