Wonderful dining experience. Top recommends …Eggplant Parm, Margarita pizza, Ricotta, and Penne Alla Vodka (sauce was amazing), and Zeppole. Very impressed with how fluid the plates arrived at our table during peak time. Server was knowledgeable, friendly, and approached the table at the right times. Even suggested that we hold off on the second pizza. He was right. Ordered the right amount of food for the table.

There is nothing like Christmas at the Walnut Room. The tree, the wonderful people sprinkling fairy dust, the themed desserts, the decorations, the nostalgia..... EVERYTHING. I went as a little girl and bring back generations as an adult. It makes me teary being there. Our waitress was great. Reservations right on time. The food..ehh..it is not why you go. Burger was nothing special and the fries were literally cold,cold not even just cold. Most people get the pot pie and salad. I should have tried something a little daring but was in the mood for a burger. It was a smashburger. Next year I will go with the chicken dish! I love it here at Christmas, it is Chicago. So glad they brought back the collector mugs

We dined on a Monday night; 1/2 priced bottles of wine… need I say more?! We shared the Peking duck for 2 and, and, sat at the very small and cozy bar. The Duck was so flavorful and cooked to perfection, we had the seasonal squash soup; which is just spicy enough to be interesting and satisfying but, not so much that it overwhelms- the service is quick and efficient and the room is small and charming- the best French bistro in Chicago!

Great all around!! We will go back for sure and try to seating at the Chef’s Bar!
