From 4 PM–8:30 PM, secure your table for $35pp to enjoy exceptional dining options, including our signature 3- and 5-course Omakase menus, and a variety of à la carte seasonal favorites and holiday classics. After dinner, join us from 10 PM–2 AM for a rooftop party featuring Portland’s favorite DJ Keawe of Pure Pulse Entertainment and a rotating roster of celebrated DJs to keep the energy high and the vibes flowing well into the early morning. Can’t make it to dinner? Swing by for the rooftop party with a $15 cover charge. If the music is too loud, join our outdoor silent disco where you can dance under the stars.               We had the Peking duck experience, as December is Duck Month at Departure. The duck was beautifully presented before the final stage of cooking to crisp the skin and apply the final layer of glaze. The meal consisted of duck bone broth, the Peking duck with thin pancakes, cucumbers, green onions, hoisin sauce, pickled cumquats, duck fried rice, and duck fat ice cream with sesame brittle and berry sauce. The meal was delicious. There is a huge sale list, but we opted for the Lillet All Day and 75-ish cocktails. A glass of Domaine du Petit Bonhomme went perfectly with the duck. Our server, Hailey, was great.

              Remember when every bite was a flavor explosion at Departure? Not so much anymore… The Szechuan dumplings were bad. Rice cold. Halibut meh. Crab roll was good. The service made up for it all and the cocktails were excellent. But the bus person with the “attitude” almost ruined the evening. Won’t rush back. Sorry…

              Staff left us hanging for long periods of time, were condescending, and took zero accountability. I’ve never written a bad review and I’ve loved departure for years but this was disappointing. Food was great as always.

              Not worth the price. Paid over 700 for a party of four to sit outside and have very mediocre food. We attended the duck month dinner, truth be told the duck was okay, soups was disappointing and so was the dessert and fried rice . Overall a very mid underwhelming meal. There’s so many better spots in Portland. Don’t waste your money or time here.

              The Departure. Is one of our favorite restaurants, particularly when they serve Duck Feast in December. Service is always attentive, The staff really works together. Highly recommend.

              We’ve been to Departure numerous times and it’s always wonderful! We did lament this year that there wasn’t any Boa buns on the menu which is one of our all time favorites!

              It was amazing as usual!!! Our waiter Jesse was incredible..the food was fabulous and the view of the Christmas tree in Pioneer Courthouse Square was amazing!!!
