When I opened my doors in July of 2009, I committed to serving the freshest Italian dishes made from local and seasonal ingredients. I learned early the heart of Italian cooking is the flavor…or sapore. My school of teaching was from the best; my Nonna Elena and Mother Lia. Their philosophy has been carried on in my style of cooking: use simple ingredients and the food will speak for its self. Classic Italian dishes grace the menu but are personalized with my unique touch. Quality and consistency is what you will find with each dish. I would never serve anything short of that. So whether you are looking for a memorable night out or a glass of wine with friends, I am glad that you have chosen Sapore.     Dinner at Roberto’s Trattoria is always a great experience. The peppercorn steak, the filet with crab and shrimp topping, and the rack of lamb all were amazing. Brent and all of the rest of the wait staff did an excellent job of taking care of us, making our family Christmas Eve Celebration very special.

    The food was absolutely AMAZING! I started with grilled oysters that was so good I almost ate the shell! For dinner I got the Pollo Marsala with Brussels sprouts and fingerling potatoes...all very tasty! The check was literally falling off the bone! I also tried their espresso martini flight which is probably the best deal you can get! The amount of drink in the cocktail for flights was extremely satisfying. I loved that they all were unique but still very much an espresso martini. Unfortunately the dessert menu was underwhelming so I opted out. But that didn't even factor into my overall experience! I will be back!!!

    Trout is always a go-to, and recommended it for my friend. I tried the braised beef and thought it was fabulous. Escargot still remains the best in town, and the gougeres are addictive. Still my favorite STL spot for a nice evening out since moving out of town.
