Vallozzi's started over 50 years ago when Helen Vallozzi was selling homemade pastas out of her home. Helen opened a take out restaurant in Latrobe, PA a few years later where her popularity exploded. In 1977, Ernie Vallozzi moved his mothers location to Greensburg where it is still open and operating today. In 2012 Ernie's son Julian expanded the tradition in to downtown Pittsburgh. Vallozzi's Pittsburgh has recently joined a mere 1,200 restaurants worldwide as a recipient of the Wine Spectator Magazine's Best of Award of Excellence and is the only Italian restaurant in Pittsburgh to receive such an honor. Terrance was a very attentive excellent server. The chopped salad was delicious with the homemade bread. Got orecchiette which has such a great blend of chicken, garlic, squash and pasta. Our other entree was Cioppino filled with scallops, swordfish, shrimp, mussels & calamari-- Unbelievable!! Portions are perfect. Especially love the option to have half orders on pasta. A true asset to Downtown- highly recommend.

We had a party of 7 for dinner at Yuzu on the night of the Christmas tree lighting downtown. It was packed. The nice folks at Yuzu had our table ready on time even on one of their busiest nights. Service was fast and friendly. The food was excellent, especially the shoyu tare ramen. Creative cocktails as well! Great experience, we will be back.
