Before the James Beard Award and the Gourmet Magazine review, Lotus of Siam was a small little hole in the wall located in Commercial Center in Las Vegas. November 1999 was the month Chef Saipin and her husband Bill took over Lotus of Siam. Since then, Thai food became an adventure for those willing to step out of their comfort zones for Asian Cuisine. Chef Saipin’s distinct cooking has been passed down from generation to generation, from both her grandmothers and her husband’s grandmothers. Her northern style cooking has opened America into the “Northern” world of Thailand, away from the Bangkok style of sweet and tang. The northern menu consists of hearty herbs and spices, along with Thai style stews and coconut-less curries. Through her set menus, our guests can dine and enjoy recipes from over 100 years in the Chutima family.

    Our 1st time here. We enjoyed the Paris casino and then went to dinner. My GF does not care for Martha but we still had a lovely time. We were amazed at all her B&W pics of her modeling days. No idea she was a model. Lovely woman. And the restaurant looked so special with all of the Christmas decorations. The place was full and the service team was busy. We could see the kitchen folks working hard. And we noticed all the copper pans dangling from their staging area. We even had a nice chat with waitress. She met Martha a few times. The food was really good. The seafood dish was WOW! and the sauce was like a soup oh so good. She enjoyed a glass of wine and I liked the Moscow Mule. Good place. BRAVO! Martha you 19Crimes hottie.
