Hackney, because that's the borough in which chef Aidan Brooks was born and bred. All of the fruit and veg on his menus has to have been cultivated or foraged in the borough, and everything else has to be Hackney-produced or sourced.Aidan's interactive style of service means he's on hand to offer insightful details behind each dish. Chef Rex also competed in the 'British Street Food Awards' in 2019, winning the title of "Southern Champion" in the regional heats and then competing in the National Finals to win 'Best Vegetarian Dish' in the UK

    It was perfect from start to finish. The food is flavourful, original yet classic and delicious. The restaurant is beautifully lighted, the noise is surprisingly low for such a wide space, and a special thank you to our waiter James who was lovely, gave us good advice and a special treat for my mum’s birthday. It’s a truly special place !

    What a fantastic surprise this restaurant was! We went for my birthday with a large group of friends. All with different tastes and ideas on food! We were welcomed so warmly and taken into an inviting rooms Where the tables were set nicely. The choice of drinks was good and as for the menu....... fantastic! Who knew how long it would take for 14 people,e to decide on what to eat?! Delicious food, attention to detail, explanations, piping hot, tasty, different....... what more can I say! Fab! I was also presented with a magnificent birthday cake and singing! Thank you all very, very much for a wonderful birthday evening!

    Delicious fare, delightful atmosphere. Versatile and fabulous for a family gathering or an intimate dinner. The best kind of hidden jewel. I hope it does not stay hidden for too long. Iznik deserves to be visited and supported locally.

    Food was great, it was our first time trying Afghan food and it was a really enjoyable experience. The venue must be going through a redecoration process as the room was all painted in a single colour and all walls were empty of decoration, which didn't give the restaurant much of a buzz. The service was a bit slow. But the food was good so I would recommend it!
