Café Berlin has been serving authentic German cuisine on Capitol Hill since 1985. It occupies the ground floor of three townhouses whose front yards serve as Biergarten for outdoor dining. The interior features a small bar and two cozy dining rooms. The restaurant is located within a short walking distance of Union Station and the U.S. Capitol. It draws politicians, congressional staffer, and tourists as well a loyal following of neighborhood residents. The traditional dishes are authentically prepared with lighter touch by chefs with extensive experience in German cuisine. In addition to the regular menu, the restaurant offer seasonally changing menus that feature fresh asparagus in the spring, salads and light fares in the summer, Bavarian dishes during Oktoberfest in the fall, and wild game in the winter. Food was so amazingly good, from the roasted cauliflower to the tender and flavorful steak. The service was friendly and helpful, modifying the chef's menu for our vegetarian with shellfish allergy guest. And the overall enviroment was warm, welcoming, and cozy. My only complaint is that the experience is so good that no one wants to leave their tables! Like a great family dinner. Thank you

I took my girlfriend here for her birthday, and the entire experience was flawless - Fernando was our server and explained the menu in extensive detail. The ambience was cozy, and the service was impressive. All the dishes came out quickly and were so tasty. Fernando gave us free drinks and dessert. Overall a very positive experience and would recommend Amazonia to anyone looking to expand their palette!

We were able to sit out on the patio under 2 space heaters with our party of 10 (family from OOT) - it was great to hear each other and enjoy the wonderful food and service! The hummus (mushroom and lamb) and kebabs are amazing!
