Umi Sake House is a unique Japanese cuisine restaurant in the Belltown area of Seattle featuring the highest quality seafood available in the Northwest, a large izakaya-style tapas menu, and boasting a sake list of over 60 imported Japanese bottles. One of my favorite restaurants in Seattle, tucked away on a street corner in the Kimpton Hotel. Classily little spot, excellent (and authentic) Italian fare, from the appetizers to the desserts and liquors. Lovely spot, great food, exceptional service, and manager attentive to every detail, this is a a delightful experience.

We were seated at our reservation time at a premium table. Our waitress was prompt, friendly, knowledgeable, attentive and efficient. Salad was unique and very flavorful. Small plate to share at Nichol’s recommendation, of scallops was outstanding. Main courses were again unique, flavorful, and exquisite. Desert was to die for. Best meals we’ve had, ever, in Seattle! Can’t wait to return.

Really enjoyed our dinner last night. We each ordered the nigiri set and shared several Ala Carte selections. Everything was well prepared, sushi was very fresh and rice perfectly seasoned. The sake selection was excellent and reasonably priced. We loved the minimalist decor, which still had a warm vibe. Tables are well appointed in the dining room giving each party some privacy. And if you take a coat, do check it in with the receptionist as you will be pleasantly surprised when you retrieve it at the end of the evening. Nice job Takai by Kashiba!
