Bodega SF is an evolution of Matthew Ho’s family's restaurant, Bodega Bistro, which operated from 2003-2017 out of San Francisco’s Tenderloin District, serving traditional Northern Vietnamese cuisine. The brand’s success continued as Ho organized pop-up events, eventually transitioning to meal packages throughout the pandemic to meet demand. Great food and service! Really awesome ambiance with the decor. Only opportunity for improvement is the oysters re small for the price. Lobster bisque is the best I’ve ever had!

Clearly one of the best restaurants in the Bay Area. We had the 9-course tasting menu, chef Claude’s signature. Usually for such menus there’s always one or two less interesting. Not here, no miss, everything was exquisite. Very polite and knowledgeable service staff. Quiet. Really a fantastic experience.

The people who run this restaurant are so accommodating and eager to please. Food is very good with lots of options from which to choose. I love their pita bread and the house-made condiment that comes with it. The dolmas are excellent. The location is really convenient to Union Square and to the SF Playhouse. Be sure to try one of the desserts.
