Odyssey Restaurant is a little chunk of Greece transported into the heart of Chesterfield, offering customers a journey of authentic flavours, sounds and the atmosphere of Greece.Owned and run by a Greek family, Odyssey is based in the centre of Chesterfield town on 1-3 Knifesmithgate, in a traditional English building and what used to be known as the old Queen’s Head. The owners have managed to bring the building back to life by marrying old English and Greek tradition, maintaining the beauty of the building, but also enhancing it with sites and the aroma of Greece.Among the many menu choices, one can find lovely Greek salad (horiatiki) to chicken, pork, vegetable or prawn skewers or a classic moussaka, rabbit stifado or meatballs with goat’s cheese. Booked for 3 on a Wednesday at 6.30. Fairly empty on arrival but it soon filled up so glad we booked. Service very good, no rush to order food and drinks arrived promptly while we browsed the menu. Chose a couple of starters to share (olives and bruschetta) which were delicious and large portions. Enough for 3. Then ordered 6-7 tapas between us for mains thinking we could always order more. Portion were very big and flavours amazing. Really tasty food, calamari, veg paella, chorizo, pastas bravas and others. Everything wonderful and more than enough for 3. Spotted some other dishes coming out of the kitchen, musssels, prawns courgettes tortilla and all looked amazing so already planning to go back to try more. Really is a great find.

Incredibly impressed by the quality of the food, and the bottomless brunch did genuinely seem to be extremely good value. Very good ordering system so you couldn’t order too much too quickly but by the end felt extremely full of gorgeous food and drink. A really lovely special day out after our daughter’s graduation, thank you!
