The Derby is more than a restaurant. Established in 1922, it has been family owned and operated since 1951. It is a grand museum showcasing some of horse racing’s greatest moments. Diners are invited to take a break from the rush of modern life and travel back to the time of George Woolf, Seabiscuit, and relive the excitement of “The Race of the Century”. We excel in offering the best meat and fresh seafood hand selected by our longtime executive chef that would delight even the most discriminating of taste. When I first arrived I was confused and thought I had entered the wrong address on the GPS because it directed me near CITY OF HOPE so I thought it was a cafeteria. Apparently there is a hotel nearby and the restaurant is in the lobby. The food was great! Had the Four cheese pasta and I truly enjoyed it. It had a nice flavor and brightness to sauce with a slight spicy kick and richness from the cheese incorporated and yet didn’t have an overpowering heaviness. The dessert was delicious as well. Had the Butter Pecan cheesecake which was their seasonal dessert and a friend had the butter cake which I would highly recommend to try. The butter cake had a nice crisp outside and moist inside

No complaints about the food or lattes, except the portions are slightly smaller than what I’m used to for the eggs benedict…delish cocktails—highly recommend bartender..
