The Grain House Restaurant is located on the picturesque 10-acre estate of the Olde Mill Inn in Basking Ridge, NJ. The Grain House structure was originally built as a barn in the 1760’s and was used to store grain for American Revolutionary soldiers. The barn was later moved to its current location and opened as a restaurant in the 1930’s. Today, the Grain House is a renowned restaurant in North/Central New Jersey, with a comfortable, casual ambiance. The restaurant serves innovative, traditional and contemporary interpretations of American cuisine with some added international accents, prepared under the direction of Executive Chef John Benjamin. Delicious homemade desserts complete the menus, which are revised several times a year. We made reservations at Rats for Christmas Eve over a month ago with the understanding that it would be their dinner menu as it was advertised on their website as “Menu for the night includes our full menu”. We were surprised that the menu was actually their lunch menu so we ended up trying to order different things to make it our “dinner.” The food was good, nothing special, but it would have been nice to know beforehand. If I knew it was only going to be the lunch menu, we would have dined somewhere else to celebrate Christmas Eve.

We had a wonderful evening dining at the Pluckemin Inn. Service was attentive and pleasant. Everything we ate was delicious and perfectly seasoned. We enjoyed the salmon and striped bass for our entrees. We look forward to dining here again soon.

I absolutely love the Ryland Inn. The food is amazing and the ambiance is perfect. We came back to celebrate our anniversary since we got married here and every time I come, it’s amazing. Sooo happy the restaurant is back open.

Pre theater lunch was excellent. It was very busy so a tad noisier than regularly, but staff did everything right in providing good space between large groups when possible. This is a beautiful spot on the river and so close to BCPH.
