Hamrock's Restaurant is located within the Moore-McCandlish House (built 1842) in the heart of historic Fairfax City. We've been proud to serve delicious made-to-order American dishes using fresh ingredients since our establishment in 2016. We also have a wonderful hand-selected wine list to enhance your dining experience. Approximately eighty-percent of our menu is-- or can be-- gluten-free, as we use only canola and olive oil in all of our cooking. Some of our best-selling dishes are our southern fried chicken, grilled meatloaf, and crab cakes-- all which are gluten free! Other menu favorites include our deviled eggs, firecracker shrimp, Atlantic grilled salmon, roasted pork tenderloin, and penne pasta with andouille sausage & shrimp. We have beautiful year-round outdoor seating options on our wrap around porch (we have heaters!) In the warmer months, we also open our courtyard. Carnegie Diner features an extensive all-day breakfast menu in addition to serving a wide selection of salads, burgers, sandwiches, entrees, steaks, fresh fish, pastas, desserts and more. Great dinner last night. It was restaurant week. There were good choices on the menu. I recommend the burrata with arugula for an appetizer & the lamb shank for the main course. Both were excellent.

Friendly service from a gentleman waiter and the food was delicious and cooked to perfection. Dining in such an old house that looks like a historic site does not feel like dining in a restaurant, but rather like being at home.
