Sammie’s is a little taste of old Italy in downtown Austin. It celebrates the great ‘red sauce’ institution—inspired by old school, legendary Italian-American restaurants. Fantastic dinner here. Parking available, promptly greeted and seated; our waiter was excellent, made sure we were aware of HH specials and cut-off for ordering from that menu. Both apps we ordered were great, as was the Redfish Anna with lump crab. The fish was a pricey fish but the portion size and quality of the fish, crab and delicious sauce made it more than worthwhile. Highly recommend!!

Server was proactive, attentive without being overly so, and the view was very enjoyable. Got slightly loud when the doors to the exterior came down, but nothing unusual for a Saturday night. Busy without being too crowded. Staff was pleasant from start to finish.
