The Grain House Restaurant is located on the picturesque 10-acre estate of the Olde Mill Inn in Basking Ridge, NJ. The Grain House structure was originally built as a barn in the 1760’s and was used to store grain for American Revolutionary soldiers. The barn was later moved to its current location and opened as a restaurant in the 1930’s. Today, the Grain House is a renowned restaurant in North/Central New Jersey, with a comfortable, casual ambiance. The restaurant serves innovative, traditional and contemporary interpretations of American cuisine with some added international accents, prepared under the direction of Executive Chef John Benjamin. We enjoyed a delicious meal at Hills of Herat. The staff was friendly and willingly accommodated our need for wheelchair accessible seating. Service was timely and the food wonderful. We will definitely return to Hills of Herat.

Food was well-crafted, innovative and tasty. Service was prompt, friendly and attentive. Ambiance was very comfortable. Only complaint is that cocktails were skimpy pours.

In from out of town and went for Christmas Eve dinner. Restaurant was exactly what I was hoping it would be, small family place with great service, friendly staff and delicious homemade Italian dishes. 10/10 will definitely make a point to come back next time I’m in the area.

We had a wonder first time at tap and bitter. It was a quiet Sunday but the staff checked in on us throughout our dinner. We always had water and didn’t feel rushed and they gave us time in between courses to relax and enjoy each other company
