Founded in 1996 the ideas for the Marblehead Chowder House were actually hatched a few years before. Sitting at "The Barnacle," overlooking Marblehead Harbor one raw winter day, while the spume from the rough saltwater painted the windows and the Sam Adams Lager flowed freely, a concept was born. Casual, coastal and cozy - fresh seafood, fin fish, shellfish and hearty chowders in a warm, relaxing atmosphere that says "seaside" - a place that had tradition, patriotism, and a New England heritage about it. Excellent. I had the rainbow trout entree. Fish was cooked to perfection, not dry. Brocolini had a nice crunch and roasted potatoes were well seasoned. Portions were generous. Our server was very attentive and patient with us. We did not fell rushed . All in all, it was a great dining experience.

The staff, food, atmosphere, and location were all absolutely top-notch – truly A+. The flavors of the food were insanely good; every dish was bursting with freshness and creativity. From the moment we walked in, the ambiance made us feel right at home, and the service was impeccable. The hostess cancelled my rsvp when I called & told her I was running a few minites late & was driving. I had to pull over & reenter my reservation. She cancelled it again. ??? Had to pull over & add again...I think she finally got it, that I was on my way.
