Nestled in the heart of Ashtown Village, Dublin 15, overlooking the Royal Canal, The Lock Keeper can be found at Lock #10. Steeped in heritage, this double lock was constructed c.1792. With quality stonework and attractive sloping edges Lock 10 is one of 46 along the Royal Canal and continues to be a testament to the skill of the craftsmen involved. Our bar is adjacent to the Lock Keepers House, a post that became obsolete in 1961 when the canal was closed to traffic the previous year. Wow what can I say, the food at the black forge was the best food me and my wife has ever had. The staff was so friendly and very helpful and a joy to be around. They even let me and my wife have a picture with Conor’s ufc belt. We will definitely be going back again.

Staff were efficient and friendly. Lovely atmosphere Christmas decorations are spot on. Food was delicious. Over all I would highly recommend booking is a must.
