At Kumquat, every dish is inspired by authentic Asian cuisine, crafted by Chef Patron Alex Boyd. With nearly 30 years of experience in Michelin-starred restaurants and prestigious hotels in London and Hong Kong, Alex has worked with renowned chefs like Joel Robuchon and Pierre Koffman. He earned two AA rosettes as Executive Chef at the 4 AA Red Starred Hotel St Ermin’s and led the kitchens at Mansion House, cooking for dignitaries, royalty, and world leaders. Inspired by the flavours of Asia, Alex combines classical dishes with modern techniques to create a dynamic menu. Set just a few minute's walk from the Tunbridge Wells Assembly Halls, and the historic Pantiles, TN1 Bar & Kitchen is a family-run restaurant, opened in May 2021, owned by Tess & Murat and their chef Lukas. TN1 has established a reputation as a warm and inviting restaurant and bar in the heart of Tunbridge Wells and provides drinks, cocktails and fresh food which is cooked on site by experienced chefs led by Lukas, and run by a welcoming front of house team headed up by Tess and Murat.Our ethos is to serve modern & imaginative dining, which our talented kitchen team delivers 7 days a week. We’re open all day starting with brunch. Dishes include classics such as eggs Benedict and a full English or lighter options such as granola. Our a la carte menu boasts robust and creative flavours, using fresh and locally-sourced ingredients with a selection of grills and seasonal favourites including burgers, steaks, seafood and fish and the week finishes with a fantastic Sunday roast.

In addition to the food, we offer a selection of fine wines, quirky cocktails, and have a collection of over 25 craft gins available.World War I poet Siegfried Sassoon lived in Matfield and is the inspiration behind our name. Sassoon was awarded the Military Cross for "conspicuous gallantry" and later won acclaim for his writing. As one of the oldest Pubs in the country , dating back to 1450, we have a relaxed cosy restaurant with open fires and aged oak beams, and in the warmer days you can enjoy our sun trap garden with far reaching views over the Eridge Park Estate.
