Patri has several meanings, in Hindi it means Pavement, in Urdu it means Track and in ancient Sanskrit its means a vessel or small furnace. The name took us back to our origins and we decided to use Pavement, Tracks, and Furnace to come up with a street food menu contains all three elements. Our starters are street food classics on pavements in India and Pakistan. Our grills are freshly cooked in the tandoor at over 400 degrees to replicate cooking in a furnace. This long-established restaurant in Ealing is known affectionately by its customers as “Mrs Chow’s” in homage to the lady in charge of the cooking, who believes in using fresh, natural ingredients. We booked this restaurant as it was close (very) to the Arena and we were attending a gig there. I had a few dietary requirements and they were brilliant making sure they could find me a dish I could eat, liaising with the kitchen back and forth. We were a group of 6 and everyone’s dishes were lovely, just the right amount. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
