We began in 1964. It was the time of the Beatles and Rolling Stones and an air of great fun. Anything seemed possible, it was the Sixties! Grumbles was the first restaurant in London with a silly name!In the early days as we rushed around the tables, we hardly had time to notice the faces of the likes of Beatles, Mamas and Papas, Julie Christie, Michael Foot, Christine Keeler, Ian le Frenais, Rod Steiger and so many many more as well as Jane Lapotaire sometimes helping with the Founder Jeremy Friend washing up!Grumbles and its customers have been such a winning combination for over 60 years and we thank you for all your support.

Dragon Inn Club is the most secret hideaway venue featuring ancient dark wood, bamboo, authentic ornaments and décor, recreating the voyage of the famous Silk Road.The open kitchen on the ground floor is a casual dining area, where you can pop in for our signature dim sum basket, Sichuan noodles or street market style small plates. On the lower ground floor, diners can enjoy a drink at our cocktail bar and choose to eat at either the ‘Dragon Room’ or in the hot pot ‘Temple Room’. We had an early dinner and it was perfect- great tasting food and quiet as we were there before the restaurant filled up. A great place for a family catch up.

Booking for 8, Christmas office lunch, the flavours and textures of the food were so special and deliciously authentic. Two Italians in our group loved it especially. The service was smiley and attentive. The wines were perfect. To be that attentive at the busiest time of the year with groups is amazing and shows their professionalism and dedication to their art. Before we left they were starting all over again in the open view kitchen for the evening service. Coming back soon hopefully.
