Welcome to your friend neighborhood bar and sandwich shop. Tucked away on Lafayette Park, just a block from the downtown and seaport neighborhoods of Salem, MA, The Babe is the perfect place to rendezvous after work for a cocktail, grab a bite with friends, or get together for a late night celebration. We take pride in our scratch kitchen with a menu inspired by Northeast sandwich culture and cuisine; touching on fan favorites from Philly to NY, and of course, Boston! Our menu includes specialties like house-ground cheese burgers, loaded Italian subs with freshly sliced salumi, crispy and cheesy mozzarella pockets, crispy wings, and more. Even though Post is a new name for most of us, it has been an important part of South Hamilton history since 1924. The historic building at 16 Bay Rd. was home to the South Hamilton Post Office, and a place for residents to send and pick up letters. In response to the Great Depression, and a drop in the postage rate (from three cents to 2 cents), the Postmaster added more opportunities for residents to pick up their mail. At Post, which at the time was known as “the brick block building”, letters were piled on a table, and a bell was rung to let residents know that they could come and retrieve their mail. Keeping with that tradition, guests of Post will have an opportunity to “Ring the Bell”, which signifies that they have bought a beer for our hard working kitchen and waitstaff. Our second visit in two months. An exceptional meal from beginning to end. The Zucchini flower appetizer was delicious…the marinara sauce is great! The Salmon Florentine entree was incredible…fish moist yet expertly pan seared served with spinach and oyster mushrooms with a lite herb cream sauce. The Scallops were perfect and joined a delicious pesto over spaghetti (normally gnocchi). If you haven’t tried the Italian Wedding soup, theirs is about the best I’ve ever tasted. Portions are very generous especially for the prices! Service was attentive, friendly, accommodating but never overbearing. Took desserts home…the bakery is awesome! We can and will return for dine in and take away ASAP!

The Sunday brunch is amazing. The food was so delicious got a made to order omelette that was heaven..the coffee was fantastic. Service was great even while they were very busy.

Our Bartender was excellent! The food was amazing! We got the steak and eggs and the breakfast wrap! Absolutely amazing!! Can’t wait to go back! But the star was the lemon ricotta donuts served warm with homemade jam!!!

First time visitor. The food was delightful! Shared a buffalo cauliflower and it was amazing! The portion was good size for 2 or more. The pork belly burger was great! Had to take 1/2 home. My friend had theFerby burger and couldn't finish hers either. Will be back for sure!
