Rengaya has been serving YAKINIKU in North Sydney since 1993, making it one of Australia’s pioneering Japanese barbeque restaurants. Now, that tradition is set to continue at its new digs on Miller Street – just a short stroll from the original location – in a much more modern, striking setting. The new fit-out features bar-counter seats around an open kitchen, red booth seating divided by Japanese-style timber panelling and a hard-to-miss chandelier. There’s also a 20-seat private dining room. We use only the finest ingredients such as Japanese Black Cattle made in Australia for beef, Sashimi and Seafood fresh from the sea. Staff were professional, approachable and knowledgeable. The food was overall great, but the waguy beef with chimichurri was a bit on the tough side. It could have done with being sliced a bit thinner. Also, as a Spaniard, I do believe bread should be provided to the table as a staple, especially at this higher-market price tag.

This is a great after work or Friday night spot . Close to parking and public transport . Atmosphere , drinks and service was great . Will be returning !

Great food this year, this is our 3rd Christmas at Sylvester’s and this was probably the best. Service was also first class.

Great service and food was traditional Spanish. There was not many people in the restaurant, but if it was crowded then it would become bery noisy.
