Maria Rondeau and JuanMa Calderón of Boston's award-winning Celeste (Eater Boston's 2018 Restaurant of the Year and Esquire Best New Restaurant) and Esmeralda in Vermont (Esquire's 2021 list of Best New Restaurant in America), open La Royal, their newest Peruvian restaurant down the block from their Cambridge home. Understand why this is so highly rated place. Food, drink, coffee was amazing and everything from their bread, yogurt, butter, etc are all made in house.

I stumbled on this place accidentally when the place I usually go to in Brookline was relatively booked, and I’m so glad I did! The food is outstanding, the cocktail, sublime, and the weight staff were friendly and extremely efficient. This is a gem of a place, not too big so you can have a nice conversation while you are enjoying the delicious food, I will be back!

Great meal. 3 of us ordered 5 dishes,which might have been 1 too many for our group (1 larger eater; two smaller eaters) Typically it can be noisy but they say us at a banquette in corner across from the bar, so the noise level (6pm res) was quite tolerable
