Selden Standard’s fare features flavors born in local farms, captured at the peak of the season, prepared in their wood-fired oven, and served small plates-style in shareable portions. Complementing the menu are wines from small producers, distinctive brews, and cocktails to suit the seasons. Selden is rustic and casual, but with an ever-present eye for quality, creativity, and fun. Chef Andy Hollyday is a 2023 James Beard finalist and four-time semi-finalist. Selden Standard was named a semi-finalist for Outstanding Restaurant by the James Beard Foundation (2024), and has been named Restaurant of the Year by both the Detroit Free Press (2015) and Hour Detroit (2016).

We serve upscale comfort food alongside fine wine & craft beer & cocktails. ~No separate checks for parties of 6 or more.~20% gratuity might add for the parties 6 and more.~No outside food or beverages, including birthday cakes. ~ There is a 20 minute grace period otherwise you will loose your reservation and will be charged $20 per person. ~Seating: 80% of your party must arrive at the time of your reservation in order to be seated. ~ No shows or cancellations without a 24hr notice shall be subject to a charge of $20 per person.

Opened on December 13, 2014 (yes, 12/13/14!) in a historic building at the corner of Woodward and Canfield. The Huma Room on the second floor features half of a black 1973 Cadillac Fleetwood mounted behind the wall and an outdoor patio.     Was a great night. Good service. Very tired but awesome server. All food choices were great. Flatbread and meatballs for appetizers and hanger steaks cooked perfectly Highly recommend. Only problem was the noise level But you learn to live with it

    Our first tour of the iconic train station was followed by an iconic evening at Cork and Gabel. It was a lovely win-win. From the hostess, to the bartender to the the waitress and the team assisting them, we are verklempt! Keep up the kind, selfless, thoughtful work delivering delicious, hearty food💞

    We had a wonderful dinner at Selden Standard. Ahsley our waitress was very attentive as were the servers who brought out each dish. Explaining what each one was and confirming that there was none of the allergy items I had mention. The food was delicious and I loved the small plates so that we could try everything. Will definitley be back.

    Te raspberry gummy bear drink was delicious! They were out of tenderloin so that was a bummer for me. I had the chicken caprece instead & it was delicious. We got the Brussel sprouts appetizer. I do not recommend that. It was like a gallon of salt was put in it. Super cute place will definitely go back.
