Selden Standard’s fare features flavors born in local farms, captured at the peak of the season, prepared in their wood-fired oven, and served small plates-style in shareable portions. Complementing the menu are wines from small producers, distinctive brews, and cocktails to suit the seasons. Selden is rustic and casual, but with an ever-present eye for quality, creativity, and fun. Chef Andy Hollyday is a 2023 James Beard finalist and four-time semi-finalist. Selden Standard was named a semi-finalist for Outstanding Restaurant by the James Beard Foundation (2024), and has been named Restaurant of the Year by both the Detroit Free Press (2015) and Hour Detroit (2016).

Opened on December 13, 2014 (yes, 12/13/14!) in a historic building at the corner of Woodward and Canfield. The Huma Room on the second floor features half of a black 1973 Cadillac Fleetwood mounted behind the wall and an outdoor patio.     We had a wonderful dinner at Selden Standard. Ahsley our waitress was very attentive as were the servers who brought out each dish. Explaining what each one was and confirming that there was none of the allergy items I had mention. The food was delicious and I loved the small plates so that we could try everything. Will definitley be back.

    Our first time at Presley Kitchen on Christmas morning but definitely not our last! The decor, the food, our server, everything was great. Reminds me of some of the restaurants in NYC. A lovely addition to the Detroit food scene!

    Te raspberry gummy bear drink was delicious! They were out of tenderloin so that was a bummer for me. I had the chicken caprece instead & it was delicious. We got the Brussel sprouts appetizer. I do not recommend that. It was like a gallon of salt was put in it. Super cute place will definitely go back.
