Gaijin by Chef Paul Virant is Chicago’s first okonomiyaki restaurant, offering both Hiroshima and Osaka styles of the savory Japanese pancake.     We're very impressed with the unique flavors of an otherwise authentically created dish. The service was very friendly and prompt. The atmosphere was positive and inviting with a pleasant buzz among all the customers without being overly loud. While visiting Chicago, this was a great stop on our itinerary and the location has such easy access. For okonomiyaki regulars who have roots in the city of Osaka, we were very impressed! Don't forget the mochi donuts and the kakigori for dessert!

    Our Valentines Dinner was amazing, La Serre has a beautiful aesthetic and the food was impeccable and impressive and the drinks were amazing as well! But the highlight was the service my girlfriend and I received when we had issues getting in due to the weather and were late for our reservation. Wendolyn was able to move things around and still get us in at the bar and made sure we still had a wonderful Valentine’s. We are incredibly appreciative and will be back, and will be telling everyone we know they need to come as well!
