Since 1746, the building that houses this tavern has played a part in the establishment of our nation; first as a respite for stagecoach travelers expanding westward and later as a covert rendezvous point for George Washington, Marquis de Lafayette, and other leaders of the American revolution. It is believed that during the infamous winter of 1777–1778 at Valley Forge, a major figure in the Continental Army, master military mind Friedrich Von Steuben, designated the tavern as a secret black powder munitions stash for Continental Army couriers. All the while, the tavern continued to provide food, shelter and cheer to the hungry, weary soldiers fighting for their independence. Today, we honor our historic tavern’s tradition with a mission to raise the spirits of our guests. Incredible food and service! The restaurant was filled, but the noise level was still very low. Our server was fantastic, and truly catered to every detail. I am a big sushi person, and I can whole heartedly say, that this sushi was top notch. Fresh fish, quality ingredients. Creative rolls included a smoked salmon with apple, as well as many specialty rolls that were delicious. Thank you for a great evening! Will definitely return!

Everything was awesome. We went for brunch and had a bloody Mary, a mimosa, a coffee, a mistletoe spritz and their bubbly wine sampler. We had eggs, Benedict and a bacon omelette with avocado. The potatoes were really good too. This place is a real jewel and the food quality and value was outstanding The service was great too We sat in the tarped in patio area which was decorated really nice, along with the rest of the place, for the holiday. We were the only ones there at 11 in the morning and connected with the owner and several servers and all were very nice, friendly and accommodating
