Midwest Italian restaurant focusing on house made pastas, utilizing vegetables from Chef Joe Frillman’s family farm. Our bakery and cafe serves La Colombe Coffee alongside an array of pastries and sandwiches crafted by Chef Leigh Omilinksy.Dinner reservations are available Tuesday - Sunday; we are closed for dinner service on Mondays. Our cafe operates from 7:00am - 3:00pm every day. Lunch is available from 11:00am - 2:00pm every day. We do not take lunch or cafe reservations, it is first come first served. Akahoshi Ramen is a humble ramen shop in the city of Chicago. Everything is made in the restaurant, including all soups, seasonings, toppings, and noodles. We are not an authentic ramen shop, though we value the history of ramen, and our ramen is influenced by its past and its future potential. The dish, popularized in Japan after World War 2, is symbolic of both struggle and perseverance. It is both a simple dish, and a fantastically complex one that we treat with reverence and respect. Roughly translating to “Red Star,” the name “Akahoshi” is a love letter to two cities; Sapporo, Hokkaido, where red stars adorn city monuments, and Chicago, Illinois, where the red star decorates the city flag. Our ramen is influenced by Japanese and American ideals in cooking. We hope you will join us to enjoy a bowl of ramen, made with the respect and passion it deserves.

Inspired by the market, Chef César Murillo utilizes exceptional ingredients at the height of their season. His tasting menu reflects the Arts & Crafts approach of the dining room - complex layers of subtle craft beneath a simple decorative style. We offer a four-course tasting menu with optional wine pairings. The menu is not á la carte, however, it provides options for each of the courses.     Overall, the best restaurant I’ve been to since moving to Chicago. The appetizers were phenomenal, the main courses felt a little short, but still we’re good . And I did notice that they forgot to give us our onion soup and sparkling water we ordered

    Cafe Ba-Ba-Reeba never disappoints! It’s been a few years since we’ve dined here and it was just as delicious as I remembered! We love tapas style dining - we got the opportunity to try so many things on the menu. The seafood paella was the highlight. We also enjoyed the bacon wrapped dates, brussel spout salad, patatas bravas, hanger steak, and Iberico pork. A pitcher of passion fruit sangria was a great complement.

    Mon Ami Gabi is a perennial favorite, particularly for the holiday season. The restaurant is decked out for the holiday and always feels so warm and cozy. The food and service are excellent year round as well, but this is a special time to visit.

    The food was very good. I am Cambodian myself and I loved how the chef used the flavors authentic to Cambodia and put her own twist on it — like the bone marrow plate. We did the “A Tasting Journey Through Siem Reap” with 5 courses and not 1 was disappointing. Well worth the $95 per person price tag! I would come again and I would definitely recommend this place to others!
