Located in the historic district, Lewes Oyster House honors the rich heritage of ubiquitous and democratic oyster consumption in 18th and 19th century Middle Atlantic taverns and oyster houses. We serve inspired tavern fare, expertly prepared with fresh, regionally-sourced ingredients along with crisp lagers, interesting wines, and artisanal cocktails. RESERVATIONS:Heirloom is open for dinner Tuesday - Saturday starting at 5pm; closed Sunday & Monday.We accept dining reservations 30 days out, simply meaning today's date plus 30 days.CANCELLATION POLICY: If you cancel or no show within 12 hours of your reservation, your credit card will be charged $25/per person. All proceeds go towards the Heirloom kitchen squad’s continued culinary education, research & development.We do not offer child seating (high chairs/booster seats) of any kind, nor a children’s menu, and we are unable to accommodate strollers in the dining room.PATIO:Our patio is located outside, in full sun, with umbrellas provided. The Queen Anne Victorian at 210 Savannah Road in Lewes, DE has stood tall for over 100 years. Built in 1899, Captain W. “Diver” Johnston at the age of 52 collaborated with his business partner (William H. Virden) to build a beautiful new house for him and his wife, Isabella. Records indicate that he paid $400 for the entire lot, one of the most prominent sites in downtown Lewes.Over the next 100 years, the Victorian structure built in the style of Eastlake, an English architect, served as a home for many families, including longtime Lewes Mayor, Otis Smith.The team at Raas is proud to continue the story of the Queen Anne Victorian.     Thoroughly enjoyed dinner here for my birthday. (Although they never recognized my birthday but it was on the reservation). Beautiful decor, cozy, nice bar area, great menu and delicious food. We will return.

    Pre dinner cocktails hit the spot! Dinner was fabulous as was the service and the staff in general (helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable.) We were seated at a great table in the corner which was decorated for the season. It made a great backdrop for our photos! The owner was very friendly and actually chatted with my husband for a bit. All in all, 1776 is our favorite spot in Sussex County!

    This was our second visit and it was, again, great. Love the creative cocktails - the Golden Egg, the Fizzy Lifting Drink, etc. The lamb lollipops and fried clams were awesome. The crab dip had tons of crab, but definitely better shared - it's very rich. The highlight had to be the Lobster pot pie. We counted no less than 8 claws in the pot pie. My husband also loved the pork chop. All told, a great meal. We will return.

    Always a five star dining experience at Heirloom!! Our favorite restaurant in Lewes for special occasions when family is in town. One of our own is an Executive Chef, and the other two who live in NYC are “foodies” and they always really enjoy our dinners at Heirloom!
