Located in historic Blagden Alley in D.C.'s Shaw neighborhood since 2015, The Dabney continues to pay tribute to the wonderful farmers, watermen, and purveyors of the mid-Atlantic region whom provide some of the best and most unique products in the country. We celebrate these ingredients by preparing them in a large wood burning hearth which is the centerpiece of our open kitchen. The current dining room experience is an 8-course tasting menu honoring the Mid-Atlantic's bounty. We offer an additional 3-course experience at our bar and bar area tables. Zaytinya is one of my go to places to take friends, family, and out of town people because the food is great and the price is great! Our waitress took a while to take our order but the food came out fast and the drinks were great!

From the moment we stepped in and to the moment we left, we were such well taken cared for. SHIA thought of every little detail. Not only was the food amazing but it truly was the people that made the difference. You could feel the warmth and genuineness shine through every person we interacted with. It was a cozy and intimate night we won't ever forget.

Greeted with a warm smile, I opted to sit at the bar. Chris made some great recommendations, I chose the Basil rye old fashioned. For appetizer, I enjoyed the octopus carpaccio, which was delightful and perfectly flavored. Main course I went for the club sandwich. Definitely tasty combination of flavors. They also gave me some focaccia bread with what appeared to be kalamata olives! I can never resist a good tiramisu, so I opted for one, and I am glad I did. Overall, it was a great experience with good food and welcoming staff. Justin checked on me several times. The chef also came by to inquire about the food and some feedback, which shows how much they truly care about guest's experience. Definitely recommend!
