The Grain House Restaurant is located on the picturesque 10-acre estate of the Olde Mill Inn in Basking Ridge, NJ. The Grain House structure was originally built as a barn in the 1760’s and was used to store grain for American Revolutionary soldiers. The barn was later moved to its current location and opened as a restaurant in the 1930’s. Today, the Grain House is a renowned restaurant in North/Central New Jersey, with a comfortable, casual ambiance. The restaurant serves innovative, traditional and contemporary interpretations of American cuisine with some added international accents, prepared under the direction of Executive Chef John Benjamin. Seated on the upper level of the dining room we had a grand view of the Tiffany ceiling, and it was much less noisy than the main floor or the red dog. At the close of the meal we were serenaded by the wonderful Brynn Stanley and her pianist, and we spent a happy hour post meal listening to them perform holiday and jazz favorites. A great way to begin the last weekend before Christmas!

There is no place quite like End of Elm. The variety of small plates and beautifully crafted cocktails, all served expertly by helpful and attentive staff in a room with rotating art pieces on the walls, combine to make this an unforgettable and highly satisfying experience. It is decidedly pricey but well worth it.

Ok- finally made it here for my moms 71st Birthday! We had a really enjoyable dinner! They needed a place like this in between Morristown and Hackettstown. Solid Food and the Ambience / music made the night.
