Casa Vega, in Sherman Oaks, opened its doors in 1956 and has been serving the people of Southern California ever since. Local residents, and even celebrities, have flocked to the family-run Mexican restaurant currently run by Christy Vega Fowler, daughter of original owner, Rafael Vega. I was there on Friday night for a birthday dinner of 14 people, unknowingly the same restaurant I made reservations for a Saturday brunch. The food and service were excellent Friday night. Came back Saturday for a birthday brunch of five people. Sonia, our server, was amazing, and Kyle, the manager, was very accommodating! Great restaurant, atmosphere, service, and food! 👍🏽

Chef Kursten stepped away from his busy kitchen to come greet our table, which was a nice touch. Carson our waiter was super funny and engaging in our conversation. Can’t wait to come back.

We were unfamiliar with Firefly but, based on a good rating from YELP! we decided to try it. There were 5 of us for dinner and the food was outstanding. We opted for the 3 course fixed price menu and each dish was excellent. The waiters were friendly and attentive. The portions were generous enough so that we left satisfied but not stuffed. We'll definitely be back.
