Casa Vega, in Sherman Oaks, opened its doors in 1956 and has been serving the people of Southern California ever since. Local residents, and even celebrities, have flocked to the family-run Mexican restaurant currently run by Christy Vega Fowler, daughter of original owner, Rafael Vega. Mistral is one of the rare restaurants that serves equaly faboulos meat ,poultry as well as seafood dishes. The menu is extensive. Yesterday we had gravlax for appetizer.Main courses were osso buco and branzino. Mistral has been the top restaurant in the valley for over thirty years. Bacari is in a location that was once a French restaurant called “Rive Gauche.” It was a favorite of my mother’s and mine for twenty years. I cannot tell you how happy I was to see this reopen. It's a beautiful venue with gorgeous facilities, bringing back many great memories for me. I cannot say enough about my personal experience being there, but the food and service were excellent, and, of course, you cannot beat this location. I've already told three of my friends I'm taking them there. I lost my mother a couple of months ago, so it's poignant, but I know how much she would've loved seeing it now. Thank you, Bacari.
