Ruta Oaxaca means “Road to Oaxaca,” a historic state in the southern part of Mexico. Mr. Castillo and his Partners are keenly focused on honoring Oaxacan culinary traditions, whose fame is derived in great part from its many varieties of moles. By legend, these ancient recipes are more than sauces, they are the very focus of the meal. The River Cafe is probably the most beautiful and maybe the best restaurant in NYC. The views are stunning and the service without comparison. We had the vegetarian menu which was varied and delicious . There were a number complimentary “ gifts” from the chef in addition to the amuse bouche . The bread was excellent, beet salad was prepared table side , I had the truffle risotto and my companion the simple pasta dish which was also delicious . We both had the signature dessert - the Brooklyn bridge . I can recommend this restaurant highly . It’s expensive but worth every cent.

Outstanding as always. Missy the sommelier is outstanding, and every version of the one pairing is worth it. This is the most consistent Michelin restaurant I’ve ever been to (well more than TFL). Seriously outstanding. Already planning the next trip.

I had one of the bests experience in a restaurant ever. Gorgeous place, the best service 10/10 food 10/10 I can’t wait to go back. I went with friends. But this place can be a perfect date night too. Highly recommended.
