A family owned business since 1971, Restaurant Di Menna was asimple pizzeria offering delivery service and takeout. The popularity ofthe pizza place was undeniable, and founder Franco Di Mennadecided to expand his business next door: the pizzeria now had adining room. Evolving in the tasteful world of Italian cuisine, Franco DiMenna kept trying new recipes and creating delicious meals. Da Emma is a hidden Italian gem located right in downtown Montreal. Since the restaurant itself is located below street level, many people pass by this little trattoria every day without realizing it. The only sign for it is painted on a nearby brick wall in black and white and consists entirely of a downward pointing arrow and the word "Emma". It is because it is a little hard to find that diners feel like they are in on a secret not everyone knows about.Inside, Da Emma goes with a sleek and modern style complete with dark wood tones and white tablecloths. The menu consists of both classic and modern Italian plates. Some of the intricate plates that the kitchen puts out include fettucini with porcini mushroom and truffle, veal breast in rosemary sauce, four cheese tortellini in alfredo sauce and house made meatballs in marinara.

A table for 10, yes, we made the noise. Nothing to say. Everyone was great and were careful about allergies. Food was good, hot and tasty. I have to say something though. I asked for a Cesar Salad with chicken. I expected more salad and capers and real chicken. It really looked like processed chicken fashioned as a breast. Jason D gave was patient, attentive and courteous. Explained the specials on the menu and service was super. I hope I get him next time I go visit you again.
