The Gris, as it is affectionately known, has been in continous operation since 1776.`Currently we are offering dine in, dine out, and Gris To Go! Inside, guests may enjoy dining in historic, art-filled rooms which exude character, charm and tradition. Seating for the alfresco experience is available on a first-come, first-served basis, with the exception of larger parties of 7 or more which may be made by calling 860.767.1776.     This was our second experience at this location, we had such a fabulous time in the bar area the first time we decided to make reservations and sit at a table this time. Very lively atmosphere for a Tuesday evening! The DJ was amazing and we truly enjoyed his set. Our server was a little off but professional otherwise. The portions are generous and we enjoyed several options that we shared, and still left full! Most likely will stick to the bar area for just two guests, will save the table service for larger group dinners.

    This was our second trip back in a week, we loved it so much the first time. Second time all was good again except they forgot to make my dad's dinner so he had to wait about 20 minutes while we all ate. When it finally came they were apologetic and offered to comp his dinner. So they made a mistake but did the right thing. We will be back as the food is so good and the service is friendly and usually terrific.

    We have frequently chosen this restaurant for our New Year’s Day brunch and will continue to do so. Wait staff is friendly and attentive and food choices are varied and well prepared
