In 1688, Joseph Haviland built a tidewater gristmill that provided the locally-grown grains to a nearby bakery that supplied farmers and tradesmen with bread. It was the first public oven in New York State. Haviland’s Old Grist Mill and the public bakery were community gathering places for two centuries. Inspired by Joseph Haviland’s noble efforts, the Haviland Kitchen & Bar has been established for our neighbors. Hard to say if the food or service was the best because they were both outstanding. So glad we ventured outside of our normal spots to try Haviland, we’ll definitely be back.

Food was delicious. Burrata appetizer was very different and had excellent flavors. Chicken skewers and salmon were also excellent. Drink menu very well done. The Amalfi cocktail was very good. Would go back for sure.

The experience was very good throughout the evening. The ambience was beautiful. The food is delicious… love the presentation for the food. The drinks are on point. Can’t wait to go back there again.
