The name Melina is rooted in Greek origin and derives from the Greek word for "honey". "Mel" can be derived from the name Melissa meaning "honey-bee". The restaurant is named after the daughter of Co-Founder Chef Dimitri Moshovitis. “Melina” will honor the strength of the matriarchy in the Greek family. It will lean vegetable-forward with modernized Greek classics from the sea and grilled meats.     Our experience celebrating my husband’s birthday at their bethesda location was amazing. Our service and food was divine. Jason was an exceptional waitstaff and Matthew was our chef extraordinaire. They were both fabulous and made the meal both tasty and very enjoyable. We are ready to go back in the near future.     Great food with well thought out combinations. Had the Lamb Pita that was outstanding. Our server Lukas, was well versed to the menu and even asked for any allergies to help in selections. Great overall experience.

    My husband and I decided to grab an early lunch while we were picking up a Christmas dinner order in the area. I had no idea that there was a sister restaurant to Clyde’s. I have been to the location in DC, and I really enjoyed it there. So, I figured I would have the same experience, and I was right. The food is delicious, it was beautifully decorated for Christmas, and our server was knowledgeable and friendly. We didn’t even need to ask for refills; a replacement drink was on the table before we could even think to ask. Now, that is some stellar service! We will return with friends, and I have already recommended to a friend who is also a fan of Clydes in DC. Happy holidays!
