North Point Kitchen + Bar opened in 2023 by the Gilbert family, lifelong residents to the Chicago Northwest Suburbs. Chef and owner Joel Gilbert decided after years of searching for the perfect location that he was going to begin his journey with his first brick and mortar restaurant on the most Northern Point of Forest Lake, in Lake Zurich Illinois. After years of working and running restaurant establishments and working with his company Butter & biscuit Co. at local farmers markets, Joel has established great friendships and partnerships with some of the best local farmers.     The holiday decor is amazing. Service was great. Service and someone else who checked in on us were friendly and attentive. We went after the holiday for brunch so it was a little quiet for the neighborhood. I;m sure it's more lively at other times. A few normal breakfast type items and a few kinda sweet breakfast items. I had a nice mocktail.

    From beginning to end, it was a great dinner. We arrived early for our reservation so found seats at the bar. Cocktails were all very good. They had a great list of mock tails too. Violi has a really cool vibe, but the conversation is loud if that bothers you. Great service. Plates are designed to share and all 6 of us did. We liked everything we tried from the lamb shank to branzino and the mousaka. Will definitely return !

    Service is always impeccable and quick. On this visit, we were provided a complimentary taste of an umeboshi digestif and a N/A Arnold Palmer-type digestif. That made this visit extra special. December special was especially delicious!

    We had Christmas lunch here, so it was pretty quiet and the staff weren’t so busy. With that in mind, service was friendly, prompt and attentive. The food was excellent: pot stickers for starters, then mutton stir fry, beef fried rice and Singapore noodles. Mutton is unusual in Chicagoland but it was surprisingly good. PL8 is now in our top 2 Chinese restaurants in the NW burns.
