Oma's Hideaway is a vibrant, maximalist restaurant inspired by the life and spirit of Chef Thomas Pisha Duffly's grandmother, Kiong Tien “Tina” Vandenberg. Her ability to adapt, to make the most out of limited resources, and to stay creative while projecting warmth and brightness is the guiding force behind Oma’s Hideaway.Born during the pandemic as a pop-up in the Gado Gado parking lot, Oma’s became a permanent beacon of iridescent light in Portland’s Richmond neighborhood in 2021. Not too many places can do as many things well as this particular eatery. If guests just need some premium meat to bring home to cook, the butcher shop has its own entrance at the side of the building where guests can peruse all kinds of cuts of beef, lamb, pork and various kinds of house made sausages and pate. Naturally, Laurelhurst Market's menu focuses on the many fine cuts of meat that are cut on-site as well as farm fresh produce. Walk-in's always welcome! Screen Door is a restaurant that presents itself as a love letter to the American South and the revival of regional cooking. Each day, the restaurant receives natural, local organic meats and produce from nearby vendors. The inclusion of regional Pacific Northwest ingredients into a menu of dishes developed in the south has created a unique flavor profile in Screen Door's menu. Many of Screen Doors dishes draw their inspiration from Louisiana and the Cajun cooking that's found there. These include our world-famous fried chicken, Lowcountry shrimp and grits, smoked andouille chicken gumbo and fried okra. Other items, like the house-smoked beef brisket and braised pork shoulder, come straight from the state of Texas. The rest of the South is well represented as well with a Carolina pulled pork sandwich, chicken and waffles, crispy fried oysters and a pimiento cheese & sausage biscuit sandwich with a fried egg and cheddar grits.

We haven’t been for awhile and Lechon was and is still one of the best restaurants and experiences. Food and drinks were amazing and service was 1000 percent worth going out and reminds you that old school good service while eating out still exists.

I am blown away by the food, ambiance, and the service I received! It was my birthday and they not only accommodated a large party, they made sure to work with us when ordering! I also got a round of mini maitai slushies and a giant rice krispie. We ordered the whole menu (party of 7) and were full and satisfied with everything. This is definitely a new favorite of mine!

Fantastic restaurant! Mellow ambience on the second floor of a >100 yo house. Cozy. Food was amazing. Duck confit was a very unusual presentation and utterly delicious. Clams and mussels Devine. Prices were very reasonable. Waitstaff was fun and engaged. Definitely going back!
