Inspired by an era of time that’s long past, the underground space built originally in 1912, naturally has a speakeasy, prohibition-era feel with its original brick walls and exposed ceiling joists. Located at Atherton Mill in Charlotte's historic South End neighborhood, Indaco (Italian for "indigo") serves Italian cuisine. Wood-fired pizzas, hand-crafted pastas, housemade salami and cured sausages fill the restaurant's menu which can be enjoyed family-style or a la carte. With an open kitchen, and a comfortable atmosphere, Indaco can seat approximately 85 guests inside for a casual night of food and drinks. Food was great. First time and we tried various starters and entrees. The ribs were delicious, fried chicken had a good and unique flavor. The shrimp on crispy rice was fantastic. Will be back to try other options.

We went for the first time and had the best steak dinner out there! We went old school with the Caesar salad. Loved the anchovies! Both had the 8oz filet. Very tender and flavorful. The side of creamed spinach was enough for two generous servings. We had a baked Alaska for the first time and it was heavenly. Our server was extremely professional and we really enjoyed his suggestions and service. This is my favorite steak house now.

The food was good, well seasoned. Sizable portions. The sides were good ( Mac & cheese, mashed potatoes & gravy), collards, broccolini, corn bread. The fried chicken & braised short ribs reminded me of my mother’s home cooking. Thanksgiving meal did not disappoint. Asia M our server and everyone made you feel welcome.

O-Ku continues to go above and beyond! This restaurant amazes me with their customer service. I had shared that my family was celebrating my brother’s accomplishment in the Navy when I booked the reservation a month ago. When we were seated, there was a gift at the table. They ordered my brother a special gift to join in our celebration. Two managers also stopped by the table to check in. Our waitress was super attentive. The food was incredible. My favorite place in all of Charlotte to go! Can’t wait to go back.
