The sign represents Sir Winston Churchill, an expert bricklayer and whose home was at nearby Chartwell.We pride ourselves on getting involved with the local community and providing a warm and friendly welcome to our visitors. We serve Harvey's Best Bitter straight from the barrel, a fantastic range of wine and beautifully home cooked British pub food. Open Tuesday to Sunday with food served all day from noon.We now have 3 Giant heated Tipis, they provide lots of fresh air and a lovely open environment, they are also heated.Formerly an 18th Century farmhouse boasting exposed beams, oak floors, exposed brickwork and oak tables. This leads to a very relaxed and cosy atmosphere with candle lit tables and real flame stoves.The cuisine is typically modern European, classically cooked using cornerstones such as stock pots to create their sauces with a brigade that has a passion for what they do. Just a stones throw from the iconic Groombridge Place and only a 10 minute drive from Tunbridge wells Our is also available for hire and we have an amazing private space perfect for celebrations. There are plenty of activities on our doorstep with wonderful walks and the picturesque Forest Way trail close. Groombridge also benefits from having Harrisons Rocks for keen climbers and the perfect cycling routes across the Ashdown Forest. If this all sounds too energetic then just relax and chill watching the cricket from our front terrace, perfect for a lazy weekend afternoon.

The Harwood Arms is truly a hidden gem, on a beautiful quiet Victorian street. The decor, the service and ambiance is outstanding. This is our 2nd visit, and again we enjoyed our dining experience. The menu is seasonal, with a great selection for both veg and meat eaters. This place is definitely worth a detour 🙏🏽

Everything was exceptionally good! Food, staff, atmosphere, we are already planning to go back. We were celebrating my boyfriend’s 40th birthday and they brought us a cake with a candle as a surprise. Everything was delicious and everyone working there is kind even though it’s super busy.
